The Fight Against OSAEC Continues Through Awareness Trainings
More and more people are taking notice of the actions we are taking against Online Sexual Abuse or Exploitation of Children (OSAEC) in the Philippines.
In our commitment to extend our online awareness campaign to the Visayas region in the Philippines, we established a strong partnership with the Philippine National Police (PNP). The PNP is the civilian national police force of the Philippines. They are a vital part of the country as they commit to enforcing the law, preventing and controlling crimes, maintaining peace and order, and ensuring public safety and internal security with the active support of the community.
After inviting us to train them in a remarkable turn of events, they recently took the initiative to organize an online safety seminar for the communities independently. What’s truly impressive is this time, the police officers facilitated the seminar and distributed the booklets and calendars, reaching 200 students and parents. This collaborative effort highlights the PNP’s proactive commitment to promoting online safety, affirming our shared goal to protect women and children online.
While we’re happy with empowering people through our training, the ongoing continuation of our efforts by the police force is particularly encouraging. Their commitment to our advocacy adds a layer of authority and credibility, validating the effectiveness of our work and significantly enhancing the impact of our online safety awareness campaign.
2024 will see Captivating fund education and awareness programs reaching 30,000 women and students in locations considered significantly at risk of cybersex crime and human trafficking.
